The North Eastern Meccano Society (NEMS) meets to promote the use of Meccano to create models and the collecting of Meccano sets or anything relating to Meccano in the North East of England.
It is not necessary to have any Meccano at all to join the society, just a love of, and interest in its history and development. Why not come to one of our meetings or see us at one of the exhibitions which we attend. If you fancy joining us take a look at our membership page.
We hold exhibitions at various locations throughout the North East. Take a look at our Club Diary page to find out the venues and dates.
Back issues of virtually all our magazines over five years old are available for download from this site. See the Club Magazines page.
In our Photo Gallery pages you can see photos from past exhibitions. This is work in progress with photos of previous exhibitions gradually being added. There is also a photo search facility to allow one to search the associated text of a photo to find particular photos.
In addition, some videos from past exhibitions are also available to watch on the Video pages.

John Herdman's model of the new Tyneside Metro Trams
Nexus (the Tyneside Tram Operator) along with a representative from Stadler (the Swiss manufacturer of the new Tyneside Metro Trams) visited John Herdman (our chairman) in 2021 to see his magnificent Meccano model of the new tram. You can see a video of their visit below and a Rail Advent news item on the visit can be seen here.
