Shildon Exhibition May 2014 - Ian Brennand's model of a half-track vehicle built by the French Engineer Adolphe Kégress. In 1922 five of these vehicles made the first ever crossing of the Sahara Desert by a motor vehicle. (25/05/2014)

Shildon Exhibition May 2014 - Paul Robertshaw had a collection of eight beam engines all constructed to the same design and neatly presented on a purpose made stand. The purpose behind this display was to illustrate the various colour schemes Meccano have produced over the years, ranging from the early nickel period right through to the later French Blue / Yellow / Zinc. Shildon Exhibition May 2014 - John Herdman displayed a model of this British Railways experimental 'Leader' class steam locomotive, built in 1949. It was a 0-6-0+0-6-0 articulated design. The original was obviously not successful as it did not last long and was scrapped in in 1951 (25/05/2014)

Shildon Exhibition May 2014 - Rob Mitchell's Perpetual Motion machine No.3 - Four balls on tracks, those going down at a larger radius than those heading up therefore exerting a greater leverage ergo a turning force. Machine No.4 - This one may not be wholly correct! Swinging weighted arms react against each other, the gears converting the swing into rotation. (25/05/2014)

Shildon Exhibition May 2014 - Rob Mitchell's Perpetual Motion machine No.5 - A ring suspended between rollers constantly tries to fall which results in everlasting motions - or it should!. Machine No.6 = Similar to 3, the weighted arms flop over and again generate a torque to the wheel axis - it actually produces a series of pulses. (25/05/2014)

Shildon Exhibition May 2014 - Rob Mitchell's Perpetual Motion machine No.7 - The 'down' side of the chain loop is longer, therefore heavier, than that returning to the top, so it continuously runs. Machine No.8 - An ancient machine with many variants where an overshot waterwheel pumps its water back to the header tank (25/05/2014)
